Year 6 (KS3 Science Introduction Classes)

The principal focus in science teaching for upper Key Stage 2, year 5 and 6, is to enable students to develop a deeper and concise understanding of a wide range of scientific ideas.

 

They are taught to do this by exploring and talking about their ideas; asking questions about scientific phenomena and analysing evidence-based conclusions to support different scientific findings. They will recognise how the world operates and develop over time. They will also learn key terminologies that will lead further into Key Stage 3.

 

Our KS3 science introduction classes have helped so many students bridge the gap between science taught between primary and secondary schools!

Years 7 to 9

Our students are taught and introduced to understand; scientific attitudes, experimental skills, investigative thinking, analysis and evaluation and how this applies to the real-life science that goes on around us! Subject contents include; Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

 Biology:  Structure and function of living organisms; material cycle and

 energy; interaction and interdependencies; and genetics and evolution.

 Chemistry:  The particulate nature of matter; the atom, elements and

 compounds; pure and impure substances; chemical reactions; energetics; the periodic table; materials; and earth and atmosphere.

 Physics:  Energy; motions and forces; waves; electricity and electromagnetism;

 matter and space in physics.

All teaching will be focused on the need of the student. Therefore it would be advantageous if the student notifies us of the topic of interest.

Years 10 to 11 

For our year 10 and 11 students, our professional tutors have years of experience in helping students with building up outstanding students, providing a firm grounding in students' knowledge base and use this to answer the fine details of what examiners look for while marking. A lot of hard work and practice will be required. Our students have flourished under our science tutors and have walked away with some amazing GCSE results!

Years 12 to 13

One of our greatest specialties has been in teaching and tutoring our A-level students, all our students are taught by their tutors from their own personal academic successes and deliver their insight and invaluable key strategies learned from their A-level exams. Although places are limited we have helped students achieve their academic goals and more, helping them to secure crucial places at their desired universities.
