Our Tutors
All our tutors are experienced teachers who love to inspire children to learn, work harder and gain confidence in their abilities. Our tutors regularly make short notes about your child’s attendance and progress. The student progress reports are then sent to you so that you have regular, up-to-date feedback about how they are performing in class.

Since graduating with a first-class degree in Politics in 2012, I have worked here at Alpha Study Centre and have enjoyed gaining a wide variety of teaching experience, focussing a whole spectrum from 11-plus preparation to both working with younger children and GCSE poetry. I aim for my lessons to always be interesting and fun for students, and hope to help with building their confidence and skills in order to allow them to reach their full potential.

BA(Hons) in Creative and Professional Writing at St Mary's University
I specialise in developing creative minds, grammar and vocabulary are both exceptionally useful tools, but they alone don't make good communicators. I aim to use my years of language studies to grow such communicators; those capable of thinking beyond the obvious, rotting out hidden meanings, and applying their skills to any form of writing imaginable. By mastering these skills, my students will be become the best communicators they can be.

BA (Hons) Religion & Theology at Roehampton University
-
PGCE in RE for Secondary Education at Roehampton University
I started my teaching career teaching RE at Ursuline Girls Wimbledon and The Kingston Academy. As a new teacher, I enjoyed developing students debating and discussion skills, both orally and in their writing. I then made the move to Meridian High School, where I learned that if a student's English skills aren't up to standard, they can't access the same education as everyone else. This made me switch from teaching RE to teaching English. I aim for each of my lessons to be interesting and challenging, as I want my pupils to develop their skills in English and then take them into all subjects at school and into the wider world outside the classroom.

After working for a global company in Kingston for ten years, travelling around Europe and beyond, I decided to change my career; having gained some real life experience, and started to teach as an English Tutor in New Malden. From a young age, I have developed a real passion for helping people to thrive and reach their full potential. I have been a tutor now for eight years and have helped many students with entrance exams and interviews for the 11+ and IELTS, to name just a few. With many years of life experience and continued learning, I am able to help a broad range of students including non-native English language speakers to fit into the community; building their communication skills and boosting their confidence so that they can thrive at school and in life.
